DESIGNER STATEMENT

THEME PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

My goal when creating the Theme project was to recreate scene from the film "Hot Fuzz" as a stylized 3D animation, as Edgar Wright is one of my favorite directors. "Move to Sandford" was great project to challenge myself and hone my skills as a 3D artist. This project touches on nearly everything I have learned over the course of my time at Georgian Court University, from 3D modeling, to video editing, and even some graphic design. The mundane nature of the scene, paired with the editing style of Edgar Wright makes for an interesting contrast and is further emphasized through the use of animation.

I have always struggled with what I wanted to pursue as a career path later in life, but from an early age I knew that I had a passion for art and design.  Initially in college, I tried my hand at studying fine art and thoroughly enjoyed it. Though fine art taught me some invaluable skills, I had discovered the immense world of 3D design. The seemingly infinite tools and the precision that 3D programs provide was extremely enticing to me. I tend to be a logical thinker with a more visually oriented skill set and with this in mind, 3D design really felt natural for me as an artist. To me, 3D design is the perfect fit.
